Conditions of taking part
What you agree to when you step into one of our experiences, and what we are responsible for.

Who you are dealing with
Studio Rabaska Inc. makes the experience you are about to walk into, and makes Portage, the software the venue uses to check you in and run the room.
You bought your ticket from the venue, not from us. The venue sets the price, decides its schedule, runs the session and handles refunds, cancellations and anything that happens on its premises. Its own terms apply to your purchase, and nothing here replaces them.
These conditions cover the one thing that is ours: taking part in the experience itself.
Who can take part
Atlantis is built for visitors aged eight and over. A venue may set a higher age, and its rule wins.
If you are under eighteen, a guardian has to be there in person and sign for you. They sign at the same venue, on the same day, and they must be an adult themselves — we check all three rather than take a screen’s word for it.
Staff can refuse or stop a session. They will do that if someone is unwell, under the influence, unable to follow safety instructions, or putting other visitors at risk. That decision belongs to the venue.
Before you put the headset on
You will be walking freely through a real room while seeing somewhere else. That is the point of it, and it is also where the risks are: you can lose your balance, bump into people or walls, or feel disoriented or nauseous.
Do not take part if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, suffer from epilepsy or have ever had a seizure triggered by flashing light, are prone to severe motion sickness, or are recovering from an injury that makes walking or turning difficult. If you are unsure, ask a doctor before you book, not at the door.
Tell the staff if you have a condition that affects your balance, your vision or your hearing. Nobody needs your diagnosis; they need to know how to keep you safe.
Stop and say so if you feel dizzy, sick or unwell at any point. There is no cost to stopping and no one will mind.
While you are inside
Follow what the staff tell you. They can see the room and you cannot.
Stay inside the play area marked for you, walk rather than run, and keep the headset on until you are told otherwise — taking it off mid-session is how people walk into things.
The equipment is expensive and shared. Treat it accordingly, and tell staff immediately if something breaks or stops working rather than carrying on.
Do not film, stream or photograph inside the experience. Beyond the intellectual property, other visitors did not agree to appear in your recording.
What belongs to us
The experience, its world, its story, its characters, its art, its sound and its software are ours or our co-producers’, and they stay that way. Taking part gives you the right to enjoy it once, not to copy it, record it, reverse-engineer it, or reuse any part of it.
Studio Rabaska, Rabaska and our logo are our marks. Other names on this site belong to whoever owns them.
Your information
You sign a waiver before you play, and the experience runs on the XROAM platform, which needs some of your details to give you a headset. What is collected, what stays in the room and what you can have removed are set out in our privacy policy.
Read it. It is short, and it says what actually happens rather than what is usually written.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for the experience being what we say it is, and for the platform working as it should. If a session cannot run because of a fault on our side, the venue will sort out your booking under its own terms.
We are not responsible for what the venue does: its prices, its scheduling, its staff, its premises, or its decisions about who plays. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by someone ignoring safety instructions or the warnings above.
Nothing in these conditions removes a right you have under Quebec consumer law, or under the consumer law of the country you live in. Where a clause here conflicts with one of those rights, the right wins and the rest of this document still stands.
Which law applies
These conditions are governed by the laws in force in Quebec, and by the laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Montreal have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings closer to home.
Changes
We may change these conditions. If we do, the date above changes with them, and the version that applies to you is the one published when you took part.
